What's a DataDive?
DataDives are marathon-style events where teams of volunteer data scientists help organizations do initial data analysis, exploration, and prototyping. Check out a recap from a recent DataDive in Washington, D.C. to get a flavor!

Who would I get to work with?
A team made of Seattle’s brightest socially conscious analysts, statisticians, data scientists, coders, hackers, designers, and eager-to-learn do-gooders and experts from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

What’s the agenda?
Participate just one day or stay the full weekend!

  • Friday 8/26 6pm-8pm: discuss goals for the DataDive and dive into the data!
  • Saturday 8/27 8am-8pm: choose a team and get to work!
  • Sunday 8/28 8am-1pm: final presentations

Who is DataKind?
We are a nonprofit dedicated to harnessing the power of data science in the service of humanity. We bring organizations dedicated to solving the world’s greatest challenges together with pro bono data scientists to improve the quality of, access to and understanding of data science in the social sector. 

How is the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation involved?
DataKind is working with the Gates Foundation’s Philanthropic Partnerships and Agricultural Development teams to scope four projects related to trends in philanthropic giving and international agriculture. Projects will be pitched Friday August 26th so you can decide which team you want to join!
