Get to know Cecilia below as she shares more about her background, what drew her to DataKind, and how she spends her time outside of work.

What were you up to before DataKind?

I have been in the nonprofit sector for more than 14 years and most recently in the United Way network. I was the Director of Accounting working in grants compliance, financial reporting, budgeting, and audits. I have led finance and accounting teams at multiple United Ways, where I streamlined operations, enhanced compliance, and rebuilt critical finance and grants functions.

Why are you excited to join DataKind?

DataKind is an exciting organization using technology and data to help the community. I am excited to join a movement that navigates new ways of impacting change at a local and global scale. I am especially excited to join a team of brilliant individuals that believe in the work and impact we can make in the world.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, either putting together puzzles, cooking, or traveling. We spend a lot of time traveling with family or visiting family who live further away. During football season, we enjoy going to our son’s games and the outdoors.

Join the DataKind movement.
