We’re thrilled to welcome Lauren Mallory to the DataKind team as our new Senior Manager, Customer Success.
Lauren brings more than a decade of experience building and leading customer success programs, with a strong focus on educational technology. She joins our Student Success team to help strengthen and scale the support we provide to institutions using Edvise (formerly the Student Success Tool). With her deep expertise and passion for education and customer success, Lauren will play a key role in ensuring our partners are empowered, supported, and set up to drive real impact for students.
Read on to hear more from Lauren about her journey, what excites her about DataKind, and what she’s passionate about outside of work.
What were you up to before DataKind?
Prior to DataKind, I spent the majority of my career in the education sector. I was an elementary school teacher for eight years, but wanted to more closely align my passions of both education and technology. I began working for an educational software company as a Customer Success Manager ten years ago, and spent most of my time working with educational software in a success capacity, with the only exception being recently at a procurement software company.
Why are you excited to join DataKind?
I’m excited to join DataKind because I see the value being added to people’s lives, not only with Edvise, but also with all of the resources and programs DataKind has created across the world. I’m dedicated to making a positive impact on people and communities, using educational technology, as I feel that one of the most empowering resources people can have is knowledge.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I really enjoy history and science (especially astronomy), and will find topics I think are interesting and “fall down a rabbit hole” about them sometimes. I love reading and enjoy watercolors, even though I’m terrible at painting. I’m also pretty good at killing houseplants, unfortunately. One day, I’d love to do a history podcast, but I’ve got to find the time first!
