What were you up to before DataKind?
Prior to joining DataKind, I worked in economic consulting as well as international development. I specialized in applying machine learning and data science to financial projects, including financial inclusion and securities. Thus, DataKind felt like a great fit to continue applying data science and machine learning to social questions.
Why are you excited to join DataKind?
I am excited to join DataKind because I believe in applying the skills we have developed to help other social impact organizations. Further, the company has a great focus on DEI and the team that I believe is important.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I live in southern California, so most of my free time is spent outdoors including running, going to dog beaches, paddle boarding, and more. I have also taken up figure skating in the last couple of years and have spent a lot of time learning that fun, new skill.
