Global Chapter Summit Recap
October 12, 2015
Earlier this month, we had the pleasure of welcoming our Chapter Leaders from around the world to New York for our second annual Global Chapter Summit. Last year, five new Chapters launched to join our founding Chapter, DataKind UK. Since then they have hosted dozens of events and rallied thousands of data and social sector experts to harness the power of data science in the service of humanity. During the weekend of Oct 2-3, we gathered to discuss learnings from the past year and plan our strategy for the year ahead.

We are grateful to Bloomberg for its sponsorship of the event, Civic Hall for hosting us, Veronica Ludwig of New Workforce for rocking event logistics, Burton DeWilde for rocking our event photography, and Alissa Black from Omidyar NetworkMitul Desai, Director of Research Partnerships & Analytics at MasterCard Center for Inclusive Growth and Wendy Siegelman of iCouldBe for joining the discussion and sharing their perspectives. We are also grateful to Knight Foundation and Omidyar Network for their continued support of our global Chapter Network. Last but not least, a huge thanks to our amazing Chapter Leaders that do incredible work every day building the Data for Good movement in their local communities.
